letter to you.

I am a huge fan of letters; When I first started reading blogs online I found a woman that wrote a letter to her 20-something self and I have read that letter over and over again.

So just for fun, I wrote a letter to my younger self;

Hello little one!

Stop worrying about if you're fat. Seriously, we are all fat at one time or another. If you just calm down- you can save yourself from a lot of struggle with your body image. So what if you are a little more round than you'd like to be; there are far more things you will bring to the table than a perfect figure.

Stop worrying about the relationship you have with your family; as you grow they will admire your bravery and independence. Your father adores you and your sister thinks you are great.

Do not be afraid to show that you are scared. Sure, you have eagerly waited and have counted down the days till you graduate high school but it is okay to hug your mom a little tighter- it is okay to let her know that she is needed. Sometimes your independence gets the best of you-- it is okay to need people. It is especially okay to need your Mom.

Please, please, please get rid of that hat you think is so adorable. The one that has a bow on it, that you bought to show your quirky side- no you look like a middle aged gardener.
Never get rid of your gorilla suit- it was such a happy purchase and it will continue to make you happy as you grow.

Do not freak out when you realize your first college choice wasn't the best one. Embrace where you are and the friendships you make. Really love every time you see Demi, surprisingly she will become one of your best friends - she will make your soul happy & you will return the favor.  Change is okay. A big change is okay. You will be okay on your own.

Your next college will you bring you a lot.
It will satisfy that seven year old girl who only wanted to be an actress, it will awaken a love for writing and it will introduce you to a weirdo who you will be certain was born to be your friend. Spoiler: you guys aren't lovers but you are roommates and that will also satisfy that ten year old girl who ONLY WANTED AN APARTMENT FULL OF FAB GAY MEN.

Always go for the impossible. Just do it. Take chances because chances for you turn into opportunities. Marissa will meet you in California. You say it now as a joke- but it will come true.

Most things will be okay eventually, but not everything will be. Sometimes you’ll put up a good fight and lose. Sometimes you’ll hold on really hard and realize there is no choice but to let go.

You have a full life ahead of you. Don't be afraid to show people who you really are ( you will get more and more confident as the years go)
Be weird. Embrace it.

With love,

pHotO TreNds- (explicit content)

Photo trends are so fun. I think it is really great that we can inspire each other by photo trends. We can inspire each other with out #ootd (outfit of the day) #tbt (throwback thursday) #mcm (man crush monday) #pohf (pictures of hipsters taking pictures of food) #wcw (woman crush wednesday)...
okay, you get it.

A photo trend that has come along and gone~ is the feeties in bath picture.

You know the ones where girls toes are under the faucet and the water may or may not be running and there may or may not be bubbles but it is a super relaxing photo where they caption it with something like....

"Much needed relaxation time"
" #relax #bath #bubbles"
"treating myself"

Here is an example of my favorite bath pictures, my friend +Kelsey Fisher  is just as fab as ever and she  has taken bath time to a special girl time-- She makes me want to take a cutest bath ever.
*notice that Martini?! notice how cute everything is!

I am really jealous that I missed this trend and never posted a picture like this.

So I am just going to jump on the bath photo trend RIGHT NOW- with new bath photos so there is no chance I will miss the trend again.

This is my Britney Inspired bath photo. #hardday maybe the bath will help.

"Oh whats this, MRS.WASHINGTON CAME TO VISIT THE BATH. (no homo)

bubble beard 0o0o0o0o0o

and here's my foot at a different angle. Still #relaxing~

"Hey its okay... I'm Graduating from College"

Okay, for as long as I can remember I have been kind of a magazine slut. My obsession started with Tiger Beat, BRAVO and Pop Star.  Justin Timberlake with his frosted tips, Britney Spears with her belly shirts, and the FREE PULL OUT POSTERS plastered the cover of these teen magazines and I am pretty sure the pictures were plastered all over my teenage room.

From Pop Star I moved on to Seventeen Magazine where I felt super mature because I started reading it way before I was 17. (Rebel)

Then from Seventeen I moved to my Mother's naughty copies of  Cosmo and Glamour magazine. (Rebel x 12443)

I would read through these magazines as quickly as possible taking in all the beautiful women, blushing every time I saw the word sex and almost always sweating through my shirt once seeing the "Crazy Sex Positions" article with all the little cartoon people demonstrating positions.......... I'd really like to say a lot has changed but I still sweat of embarrassment when I read those articles.

Seriously though Cosmo, what is a carnal crisscross or a passion propellor?? Who names these positions?

Something that I look forward to, that doesn't make me sweat, is the small "Hey, its Okay" portion of Glamour Magazine.

If you are not familiar with this section of the magazine its just a page of small relatable advice. Examples would be:

Hey it's okay:
.... if you think its weird to have orange juice with out champagne
....if you buy the cheap toilet paper
....to buy a onesie to wear exclusively in your living room

So you get it.
I thought at this particular time in my life it would be appropriate to make a

"Hey it's okay.... I am graduating from college version"

Hey! It's OKAY

....to practice how your hair and face should look in a graduation cap.

...to skip class for no reason at all your final semester; professors will be more forgiving than bosses

...to change your answer every time some one ask "So what's the plan after graduation?"

...If you throw in "I'm thinking about Grad School" even if you are not at all thinking about Grad School.

...to compile a list of amazing things to do in your last semester of college and instead watch trashy television

... if you cry every time you apply for a job or look at your resume

...if you chase your vodka with wine- embrace the college hangovers

...if you feel haunted, terrified and ecstatic all at the same time

...if you hold on to hope and hold on to the promises you made yourself when you were a wee baby freshman

...if you have faith in your "seemingly useless degree" you made a decision to major in that degree for a reason, stay true to your ambitions; even when you cross the stage and people decide you need a practical job.. those people did not phase you in your first steps of college IT IS ABSOLUTELY OKAY if they do not phase you in your last
steps.

....it is okay to not have it all together; YOU ARE GOING TO BE A COLLEGE GRADUATE.

.. it's okay to not take that title lightly.

best wishes & cheers soon-to-be Grads.

Christmas with myself this year?

I never take pictures. Pictures would make this blog post far more interesting so maybe I will dig deep into the depths of my phone and find out what pictures I do I have to supply this post.

 I had a Merry Christmas!

However this year my Christmas was different.

My family and I were all on different schedules; my Mother and Father worked either Christmas eve or Christmas day and they both live (separately) in Texas; my younger brother headed to Colorado to see his grandparents; my lovely sister, with her little ones, were all the way in Florida HAVING CHRISTMAS ON THE BEACH..(living the life) and I was in Edmond, Oklahoma working at the hotel from 3-7 on Christmas Day.

and I wasn't that upset about it.

Last year, I was scheduled to work Christmas and I was distraught.
"I am only 20, I shouldn't be working on Christmas yet?!"
"This job isn't worth it!"
"Are you kidding me?!"
"I hate this job anyway"
"I  am going to miss my sweet Nana and her Irish accent"
"I am going to miss out on my dad's snoring and my little brother's weird pajamas"
"WHAT IHTKHRKSHFKHF "

(fortunately I got my shift covered and spent last Christmas in Arizona with my family & I am still happily employed at the same job)

This year I knew the circumstances of my family and when December's schedule came out I was completely okay with working on Christmas. I don't know what happened- I was just okay with it. I felt for the employee's still working no matter what, I realized I had no other plans and it wouldn't be painful to spend a holiday alone.

It turned out to be a lovely day; maybe the best day ever.

It went a little something like this...

Woke Up: 10:30ish

No one else's schedule just mine, benjy's (my dog) and Tyle.

we all have bed head on Christmas. (photo props to Tyle)

Ohhhh... I forgot to mention one precious little darling...
you know that friend, who could be your long lost sibling but the kind of sibling that shared the womb with you because you're relationship is beyond any namable relationship... its like a best friend but not exactly, its like a parasite that you never want to leave your side; it comes with all wonderful things--  you think about your relationship and you almost cry out of love/ adornment/ you want to punch this person for being so great/ maybe someday you will trap him in a small cage so no one else can witness this precious little darling....... yeah.... I don't know that friend either....

but Tyle was with me on the best day ever :)

Next: We laid in bed and called all of our loved ones.

I called my Mom, Dad, Sister & Nana~ maybe it was because of Christmas but all of my phone calls were exceptionally sweet. All of them gave me details of their mornings and details of their current lives. I felt closer to them than I would have if I was right in front of them.

Tyle and I exchanged gifts
adding to my wanna be fab life, Tyle and I are starting hot yoga in January. We really wont have time for much of anything-- we will be the hippest, coffee drinkin' yogis ever.

i mean...really....were.... just trying to escape our dweeb nature.

Work from 3-7
Work actually isn't too, too terrible on a holiday. No one expects much from you and in a hotel there really isn't anything happening at that time of day. It was slow. It was nice.

Home---
Have I mentioned that I moved this month? It's a small apartment where I will spend my last semester of college & the daunting first months of ......post grad life. I am so happy! It is a cute place with a homie atmosphere and an outside balcony--- hopefully I will be serenaded from it someday.... actually that would be weird for me.... unless it was John Mayer. John Mayer could sing to me from a toilet and I would be okay with it...
The best part of all is my home is cat-less and clean.  :)
But I got home and awhile later my mom showed up. She showed up with goodies and a lot of MARGARITAS

I wish at this point I could bust a holiday rhyme for you guys....

but.. I can't...

but I can leave you with this.... I think all of us have a preconceived idea of how holidays are supposed to go. Maybe someday I will get together with my family and we will carry out holiday traditions like opening presents together,  having a holiday pageant or baking together & wearing matching aprons but as of right now I am completely content with spending the day with a great friend and the night with my mom, friends & margaritas--- I am thankful for so much.

I hope everyone had a blessed holiday!!

finals week is the best.

finals week just might be the best week of our lives.

okay? WOAH!

Just hear me out.

Finals week sucks a lot. Multiple test in a week, hours of studying, hours of writing, hours of  putting together final projects, and hours of STRESS. However, here are a few reasons why finals week just might be a good week for all students involved. (I am really into list lately)

  •  During this dreadful week you can use finals as an excuse for just about anything. Why am I late for work? Oh I am so sorry, its finals week and I am just trying to make it through college so I can trade this minimum wage job for an actual salary job and not have to sell my body for quick cash. Why do I need to have this whole cookie cake to myself? Its finals week and I deserve it. Why do I need a 10 AM shot of vodka?- finals week.

  • Your room is the cleanest it has ever been. Procrastination at its best ladies and gents. As you sit down to study, you remember that "Oh, I forgot to clean the lint off my window blinds" or "I forgot to make my bed exactly like the maids do it at a hotel"
  • You get to have study groups with classmates that you probably didn't talk to all semester but suddenly need their notes or their expertise. You guys get together to study but mostly it turns into a bitch fest about the inadequacies of your poor professor or you guys bond over the guy in the 3rd row of the class who ALWAYS smells so bad.
      • "I thought I was the only one who noticed?!" "No! I always smell him"

  • It is likely that you can park anywhere on campus and not get a ticket. This might be only my experience but I parked in staff parking twice this week, once to turn in a paper and once to take a final; I never got a ticket. However, both task did take me about 10 seconds... (even the final) but it should be a nation wide campus law that tickets are not given during finals week.

  • You are allowed to wear your most unflattering, most comfortable clothes and no one can judge you.  So go ahead, wear that oversized shirt with prairie dog on it; wear it loud and proud to class because honestly you love wearing it at home, so why not get away with it during finals week.

  • On that note, with your comfortable clothes on your back- you are completely allowed to look as zombie-ish as possible. No make up. Hair a mess. Bags under eyes. Probably Hallucinating from the lack of sleep, but Hey its okay. In the real world we will never be allowed to have a stressful week and look like walking dead-- so bask in that finals week glory.

It really is a great week because we are allowed to be as lazy as ever while being the most productive we have been all semester. Just a bunch of confusion and a lot of coffee.

Cheers!

Happy Thanksgiving?

Happy Holidays!

I had a wonderful thanksgiving with my family and I am thankful.. so... so thankful; However, in the light of things I couldn't help but make up a list of things I am,

  • hangovers- I just don't understand how such a fun beverage can kick our ass the next day.
  • Fit Moms in the gym- You know the ones, they look super cute AND THIN in their stylish gym clothes but all you see them do is walk briskly on the treadmill whilst gabbing to their other cute fit moms- and I'm over on the treadmill in a paint stained tee shirt working through sprints and sweats looking like I could of popped out your 3 little brats myself- I am not thankful for you fit mom.
  • Rejection- I wish rejection letters, emails, speeches, ect.. came with a giant bouquet of flowers and maybe a free puppy; life would be better for everyone.
  • Alarm Clocks- They just suck.
  • Waking Up- Sleeping is so good, and waking up is no fun- especially when its by an alarm clock. Waking up should immediately come with good things- sunflowers, waffles, a hot man to hold, a free puppy again...
  • Tags on clothing- WHY DO YOU EXISIT YOU ANNOYING LITTLE PAPER?!
  • Razor Burn- no one wants that nonsense
  • Car Farts-  just in general.. not thankful for them

With that being said, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.

Go hug your family, embrace their weird because nobody's family is as perfect as the holiday commercial families.. and that is okay cause who would want to be with a perfect family anyway?

xoxo

Cheer!

[concerns]

Okay guys.

I am probably the biggest  internet creep ever.

If I take an interest in someone, like a blogger, a recent cast member of SNL, the girl with sweet style who passed me in the hallway-- let it be known that I will find all internet content about them, including their hidden lip sync video with 56 views they made in middle school. This only becomes problematic when said interesting people are out living life and I am at home sharing a bag of goldfish with my dog.

here is a little snippet of how my mind works whilst scrolling through pictures of admirable people:
(names in this scenario have been made up)

Oh hey... sassgirl45 you have abs now....begin frantic crunches
oh hey...tootledee you're in Spain drinking wine looking like a million bucks..... begin small tears with realization that I LOOK LIKE A HELL DEMON and will probably never be able to go to Spain until I graduate and on that note what the hell am I going to do when I graduate... engage ugly cry face.... I'm concerned.

My willpower will go from a 100 to zero in a one small second.
One second I'm planning workouts, conjuring up healthy snacks, saying no no no to junk. Turn the corner- I'm eating chocolate. I don't know how this happens.... I'm Concerned.

In May I will hopefully be graduating from college with a degree in Theatre Performance- this means that I have dedicated the last four years to learning all about theatre and acting HOWEVER in real life when I encounter moments I need to "act" I can't do it.
Example: Getting pulled over. lying. pretending to be on my phone. acting like I am in a rush and cant talk to the mall booth people.
I'm concerned.

I think its time to come to terms with the fact that I will never be a functioning adult; one who can paint her nails with out smudging them, who can opt for a real bra rather than a sports bra, who can keep plants alive, who can have phone conversations with businesses with out having a minor heart attack, who can go one day with out making a poop joke, who can live with out a gum ball from that machine...and for that the world should be concerned.

you can click here  to find my long lost youtube video when I was still a weirdo.

xoxo-

I hope you like my new blog place :)

Cheers!
